AIDS/HIV

AIDS is a chronic, life-threatening condition caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). By damaging the immune system, HIV interferes with the body's ability to fight off viruses, bacteria, and fungi that cause disease. HIV makes a person more susceptible to certain types of cancers and infections the body would normally resist, such as pneumonia and meningitis.

Maxim nurses and medical professionals have the training, education, and expertise to effectively treat patients living with AIDS/HIVS, opportunistic infections, or AIDS related illnesses.

Maxim’s services include, but are not limited to:

• Reinforcement of therapy goals/interventions
• Education of patient and family on medication and disease process
• Implementing clinical care plans
• Coordinating home medical equipment, pharmacy, and supplies
Assistance with daily activities
• Performing personal care (bathing, grooming, etc.)
