Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Being diagnosed with ALS can be both challenging and overwhelming, and while no two people with ALS are alike or will experience the condition in the same manner, there is a great deal of information to learn and questions to consider for those who are living with this disease.
