Care for People with Disabilities 

Maxim Healthcare Services provides one-on-one staff support for people with disabilities in their homes, offering the necessary assistance to maintain a safe and independent lifestyle.  People with developmental and physical disabilities can experience problems with major life activities such as mobility, self-help, and independent living. With the support of a Maxim caregiver, individuals can participate in activities or programs that might otherwise be inaccessible to them. We realize that everyone’s requirements are different and constantly evolving; therefore our services are tailored to meet the needs and interests of our individual clients. Maxim’s care for people with disabilities includes, but are not limited to the following:

• Skilled nursing
    o Tracheotomy and ventilator care
    o Administering medications and treatments

    o Liaison between client and Physician
    o Tube feedings

    o Performing light housekeeping
    o Running errands (prescription pick-up, dry cleaning, etc.)

• Personal Care Services
    o Assistance with a safe bathing environment
    o Assistance with daily grooming and hygiene needs

• Companion Services
    o Providing companionship and conversation
    o Providing respite care
    o Providing medication reminders
    o Monitoring diet and eating

    o Arranging for medical, dental, or other professional appointments

•Sitter Services (available in the home, hospital, or facility)
    o Maintaining patient’s comfort level
    o Assisting with meals and feeding
    o Seeking assistance from the hospital/facility nurse when patient is in need
    o Monitoring patient activity (i.e. ensuring patient stays in bed, IVs remain in place, etc.)
    o Supervising patient through the night
    o Ensuring family members know that their loved one is safe when they are unable to be there
    o Entertaining (games, crafts, reading, etc.)
